Russian Pies

With a heritage of six generations of Russian baking knowledge, my business, The Russian Food Company Limited, based in the UK, has created a multi-award winning 21st century version of the piroshki. Each pie is hand-crafted to suit the taste and ingredient preferences of today’s healthy eaters. The history of my enterprise goes back to my family’s business started in the 1800’s in St. Petersburg, Russia. Now in Sheffield, I have revived six generations of old fashioned baking knowledge. My dough recipe is at least 150 years old and like then I don’t use anything other than traditionally milled flours

Really Indian Ltd

When Really Indian founder Gursharon heard Indian cuisine described as unhealthy in the media, she was disappointed. The cuisine she’d grown up eating used only fresh, natural ingredients and spices which provided health benefits that had been enjoyed by her ancestors for centuries. Having experimented with jarred sauces she was amazed at how different they were from home cooking. They were far unhealthier, used additives and also lacked texture and taste. With a passion for authentic Indian cooking and a desire to share her food heritage, Gursharon decided to launch her own range of Indian cook-in sauces with a fresh

We added porridge and muesli to the range and have been making and have been making more and more ever since! What started as a diversification to support the farm, here at Yockenthwaite, Langstrothdale in the heart

Bowland Pork

We started the business in 1995, rearing pigs to sell to local markets. Things were going well until, like many rural businesses, we were affected by the Foot and Mouth crisis in 2001. Realising that we needed to diversify in order to keep the business going, we decided to butcher our own pigs to sell at local farmers’ markets which were becoming increasingly popular. We soon outgrew our small converted butchery as demand for our meat products grew rapidly. So we took the decision to invest heavily in a state-of-the-art cutting plant. This enabled us to become licensed under the
