Join us for fantastic day up at The Hungry Pine in the beautiful Gisburn Forest! We’ll be having a traditional South African Braai (like a BBQ but better!) with Boerewors dogs & burgers, served with some classic South African accompaniments. If you aren’t sure what Boerewors is, it’s a type of sausage meat that originates from South Africa. It is made with coarsely ground beef, often mixed with pork and is usually seasoned with coriander, black pepper, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. The name “boerewors” is derived from the Afrikaans words “boer” (farmer) and “wors” (sausage).
There’ll also be sweet treats provided by ‘Bespoke Cakes by Ivana’ including gluten free & vegan options. Not to mention, live music throughout the day for you to enjoy! Later in the evening as the music continues, we’ll be handing out FREE mini hot chocolates around the firepit! We’ll see you there, rain or shine! (sheltered areas & seating will be provided if the weather isn’t on our side).
Any special conditions, e.g., There is a carpark just a short walk away from the courtyard. Please contact us if you have any accessibility queries as we may be able to provide tramper’s (mobility scooters) if needed.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated: We can provide veggie/vegan sausages/burger alternatives. Please note our Boerewors is not veggie/vegan or gluten free.
Ticket Cost: IT’S FREE ENTRY! Just pay for your food!
