What is the date and opening times of the festival?

The festival is open from 9.00am-4.30pm on Saturday 12 August 2023

How much is entry?

Entry to the festival is free to everyone leaving you more to spend on delicious food and drink whilst at the festival and also our wide range of shops and at Clitheroe Market.

Are the usual shops and Market Stalls open on the day of the festival?

Yes the existing shops, restaurants and businesses in our town centre and on our regular market will be open on festival day and compliment the food festival offer.
We have a thriving market with over 40 cabins providing a variety of locally sourced food, dry goods, clothes, plants and much more.
The town centre has a wide range of specialist shops as well as a few high street favourites.  We work closely with the local chamber of trade to showcase what Clitheroe has to offer and the market traders and businesses look forward to welcoming you to Clitheroe on food festival day.

Where is the best place to park?

With many of our town centre car parks being used for exhibitor car parking, we strongly recommend using the very reasonably priced Festival Park & Ride scheme.  The Park and Ride Scheme is priced at £5 per vehicle (cash only) which includes but travel to and from the centre of Clitheroe for all passengers in the vehicle.  Please see the Getting Here page for more information.

Are dogs welcome?

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome. However, the town centre gets extremely busy, and could cause some animals distress. Therefore we advise that you consider this before deciding to bring your dog.

Is accessibility good?

The event takes place largely on the streets and pavements of the town. The venues for all the demonstrations and tastings are accessible. There is a gradual rise from the market to Castle Street along the road, but it is not too severe. Please see the Accessibility page for more information.

Is there disabled car parking?

Spaces for blue badge holders are available in all Council car parks except Market Car Park which is closed for the event. The closest being Railway View which is accessible along Railway View Avenue. For more information see the Blue Badge Holders page. Please see the Accessibility page for more information.

Are there toilets?

These can be found in the Bull Ring alongside Clitheroe Market, at the Railway View Car Park and in the Castle Grounds alongside the children’s play area.

Is there security for the event?

It is a very friendly festival with many families attending, however, we do advise all visitors to take care of their belongings and never leave bags unattended.

We have stewards in high viz tops and registered SIA (Security Industry Authority) staff located throughout the festival for everyone’s protection and security.

Are there First Aid and Medical Facilities?

We will be providing first aid cover for the event and we will have an ambulance in case it is needed.
